1999 Y2K
Created for Jewellery & Metalsmiths Guild Qld 50th anniversary pin swap in 2021, where were given a year to respond to. Sterling silver, recycled titanium, Perspex, 5 cent coin and stainless steel.

Just as 1999 was about to finish I was freaking out as I was overseeing all the finances and computers in a small office. We were about to finish a century and start a new one. We were told by those in ‘authority’ that like Cinderella, at the stroke of midnight all our computers would crash if we didn’t load the saviour software to stop the dreaded Y2K bug entering our systems. Dutifully we all purchased at great expense the Y2K software. Then come 1 Jan 2000, it all ended up being a huge hoax, utter ‘bs’ and a giant fund raiser for someone.
