Flow (1st Iteration)
Up-cycled plastic lids & cable ties. 12 x 7m. 2011.
Flow is an enormous artwork that began in Townsville where I live and Melbourne where I studied at RMIT and has been created from approximately fifty thousand recycled plastic lids that were donated over a three year period.
This intervention of up-cycled plastic lids that flow like a comforting blanket over whatever it rests upon, yet in reality smothers all underneath and is reminiscent of what our waterways could look like if production of single-use plastics is continued at the same rate within our consumerist society.
To date (2021) Flow has been exhibited in 20 indoor and outdoor venues around Australia and some of those venues (and the creation of) can be seen at:
