PET plastic swarf, wood, brass, glass, acrylic
This window of our contemporary world exhibits minuscule portions of PET plastic shaving waste that I created by drilling thousands of holes into plastic lids for a huge artwork titled ‘Flow’. I kept these due to my own concerns of how best to dispose of them. Then in creating this artwork, I found it was difficult to control these swarf shavings as they get smaller and smaller with handling. They will continue to decrease with each person who moves the artwork and unwittingly contributes to a very slow performance art, as the swarf reduces and changes overtime to microscopic particles. Where to from here?
